NEWS: Wildstorm to publish “The X-Files #3″

Mulder and Scully are sent to San Francisco to investigate a series of murders happening simultaneously throughout the city. But, according to fingerprints and DNA, all are being perpetrated by the same killer. As their investigation takes them into the unknown mysteries of the Chinese underworld, they learn that instead of being the hunters, they have become the hunted.

  1. I’m also confused about the timeline!!! That’s a pretty big oversight…Not really sure what to think about it. Maybe they reopened the X-Files and gave M&S their old jobs back and just forgot to tell us about it. But I doubt it…

At any rate, I am glad to see the comics back–they are definitely better than much of the old ones–the art is fantastic! Hopefully it’s just a prelude to XF3 when all our questions are finally answered (if everyone survives, that is…)!

  2. I just read this issue and I have several complaints.
There have been things in previous issues that jumped out at me as “Not of the correct 90s timeline.” Like a usb flash drive and Tina Fey style glasses but this issue takes the cake.
The events begin on Tuesday Feb 8, 2009.
    - February 8th will be a Sunday not a Tuesday.
    - I thought the comic series was supposed to fall somewhere during the 5th season aka 97-98.
    - In 2009 Mulder and Scully should be on the run, NOT FBI agents.
Is this some parallel universe or something?

And finally a minor problem: Scully calls Mulder “Fox.” Something that rarely happens and makes me cringe.

These errors are jarring to true fans of the series especially since Spotnitz is at the helm.
