Thanks for the news, Alex. I've been reading comics rather than comic news for the last few months, so I wasn't up on Johns leaving, although I'd heard in a DC podcast that he was moving to Flash. We'll see what happens when someone else takes up the reigns of Adventure and if it stays on simmer or turns to boil. Manapul is a loss as well.

I read issue one and enjoyed it, as well as issue two to a lesser extent. I've not yet picked this up.

What troubles me about this book is frankly, is what you rightly say in the conclusion: this isn't a breakneck speed book, and this is Johns' "simmering time" as you put it. You say something similar with respect to the back-up.

Too bad this is Manapul's last issue and more or less Johns' last Superboy Adventure Comic for the time being. Next month is going to be a Blackest Night Superboy-Prime centred issue and December's as well...which will see this Superboy arc resolved in a back-up, as Johns leaves Adventure Comics.

Ugh. This book is/was being built to be an epic, multi-year run by Johns given its pace. I can't see how we aren't going to end up with a mess in December.

Good news for Flash fans though, I guess.
