Agreed on B&B. I realize we’re only 2 issues into JMS’ run here, but it’s clear that he intends this to be a comic that has something to say as opposed to more of the same ol’ superhero rock ’em sock ’ems.

Frankly, I credit his comic writing skills to the fact that he was a TV writer first and *then* came into comics. Because he went out and made Babylon 5 first before ever stepping foot into the comic arena, I feel like he has a larger and more thoughtful well of ideas to draw from, as opposed to the majority of comic writers right now who were comic fanboys first before breaking into the industry and only have the comics they grew up on to draw their inspiration from.

Great review. You summed it up perfectly. B and B is the ideal comic, the kind that were supposed to exist at one time, but in actuality, probably never did.

As far as writing, doesn’t it seem that JMS is the father or sage of all writers, while everyone else, even the good writers, are like the children or pledges compared to him?
