I cut Fraction some slack because I did like the format in which he did it, but while I didn’t really talk about it in my review, I did find Pepper to be weirdly….selfish? It just didn’t really feel true and felt a bit out of left field, as you say.

They explained it well, kind of, but she’s been SO loyal to Tony up to now that suddenly have her second guessing bringing him back–and for a petty reason like, “you get everything, when do I get MINE”–just seems so wrong, and at least to my mind, undoes some of the brilliant work they did with her over the last arc. I hope this is just an isolated thing. Ugh. Not a fan of that.

Other than that though, I agree–I liked this issue quite a bit, and the desert visions/flashbacks/etc aren’t nearly as annoying as they were in the last issue.

I admit to totally marking out for that last panel though. For spoiler reasons I won’t say more, but…yeah. It made me happy. :-D
