This review of mine raised a pretty strong opinion, so I’m glad to read that someone agrees with me.

Robinson has done good work, but this really doesn’t go down well, particularly given the “Green Lantern threesome fiasco” from Cry for Justice just a few months ago.

Also, while rape as a subject is certainly more appropriate to the Vertigo imprint, I’ll say that I STILL would’ve found this offensive. I’m a huge Vertigo and Garth Ennis reader and also read Scalped, Northlanders, etc every month. Preacher is my favourite series of all time.

And I still found this offensive. Just because it didn’t fit the characters, it didn’t fit the context, it didn’t fit the tone of the series, and, most importantly, it was totally unnecessary. Also, if you’re going to talk about racism and rape, this juvenile, vacuous, and exploitationist manner is NOT how you go about it. You can be mature about it, if you’re daring, you MAY be able to go satirical, but you CANNOT do this.
