I bought the omnibus and am re-reading it, and for me, it’s the definitive Ghost Rider comic.

So we get Rob Williams now. You know what would’ve been awesome? If Greg Rucka, now that he’s open to working with Marvel again, wrote this female Ghost Rider book.

Another natural choice for Ghost Rider: Rick Remender. I mean, Remender writing Ghost Rider just makes sense.

I hadn’t planned on picking this up, but as a GR fan, I couldn’t resist once I was at the shop, then read it first and fired off a review.

It’s definitely a weird issue though. I think there are sound ideas here but, honestly, I just don’t think Rob Williams is a particularly great writer, certainly not good enough to pull it off. It’s never a good sign, when right off the top of my head, a day after reading an issue, I can come out with around five cringe-inducing lines. (“HEAVY…METAL!”, that stuff about grief, that “jump your bones” line, “Bieber and Black Sabbath,” etc)

I too was debating between a C or a C+. Now I’m debating whether to even bother picking up next month’s issue.

I’m glad you reviewed this. I had thought to (I loved Jason Aaron’s run on Ghost Rider), but after reading this book, I wasn’t sure what I had in my hands or what I’d just read. It was a very confusing experience with some nice visuals. I also probably would have given it a C+, maybe a C.
